The largest Buddhist monastery in the eastern United States, set on 125 acres in Kent. The centerpiece is Great Buddha Hall, home to a 37-foot statue of Buddha Vairocana — the largest in the Western hemisphere. The library is the only one in the US specializing in Buddhist religion. Sunday programs in English include morning meditation (9:30am), book discussion, and vegetarian lunch.
